Grishko Ads

Grishko pointe shoes have been enhancing the ballet dancers performance since 1988. While dancers have lots of options regarding what shoes they wear, many are often incredibly loyal to one brand or model that fits them to perfection and gives them the qualities they want for stage performances.

The heart of Grishko lies in Russia where each shoe is cobbled by hand and made of the highest quality. Grishko prides themselves on their ability to combine modern technologies such as more flexible glues and lighter weight materials with the grace and elegance of the traditional pointe shoe.

For these ads, I hand painted watercolor backgrounds and then hand drew a number of geometric designs freestyle before overlaying typography.

These ads were created using a combination of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

Imagery can be beautiful and typography can take on a life of its own. However, combining them together can be a huge challenge. For this assignment, we were tasked with re-designing American currency in a way that spoke to the history of the United States.
